![]() ![]() On two occasions we took to the spa for massage treatments, and the therapists were top class. The miniscule bathroom is strictly for one person at the time. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment that was functional, but lacked the homey feel. That is a rare find in such a big establishment in the bowl of a major city. ![]() The most obvious one is how amazingly positive, helpful and friendly (whithout exception) the entire staff is. …Ī weekend at Onyx gave us a few insights that we can share. Being a global traveller and having lived in 4 countries, and having stayed in many hotels, The Onyx is definitely on a 5 star level, and one of Cape Town's finest. The hotel also has a lovely pool area, outdoor belcony, spa and drinks bar on the 4th floor. The atmosphere of the hotel is pure luxury and class, and staff are extremely professional, friendly and welcoming. The hotel also has a nice coffee shop/breakfast restaurant called MRKT, and I often go here to have my breakfast and coffee while working remotely until lunch time. I always book a table of 15 or higher for our family or freinds get-togerhers. I have been to no less than 3 top class Asian resturants in Dubai, and YU is by far better than these. The hotel has a fantastic Asian/Japanese resturant called YU, managed by a super friendly Freddy. When we arrive, we are warmly greeted by reception and the ever friendly Simon, who always goes out of his way to make us feel at home. ![]() I have stayed here no less than 5 times over the past few years, and the exceptional friendly warm service from the staff, the sheer convenience of the hotel location (very close to shops), and the pure luxury of the hotel will keep us coming back, year after year. I stayed in many hotels in Cape Town, but The Onyx will now forever be my "home away from home".
